Rubian – innovation in bioactive extraction
Rubian is a company affiliated with UNICAMP.
The Brazilian company started its activities in 2015 with the purpose of developing and producing plant extracts rich in bioactives, focusing on safety, efficacy, and transparency.
Many concerns are emerging in the market related not only to the origin but also to the processes of obtaining bioactives. Therefore, controlled-origin materials and inputs, as well as clean and sustainable processes such as pressurized fluid technology, will be used. We are currently working on scaling up from a pilot plant to industrial quantities.
Safety & Efficacy
With the aim of optimizing and reducing waste in the use of plant inputs, we have adopted the concept of a Biorefinery with Sequential Bioactive Extraction. Residues from other industrial chains, such as passion fruit pulp and jabuticaba peel, can be part of our processes.

The use of natural extracts obtained through minimalist processes is essential for Health and Well-being, with respect and harmony with Nature. These are values considered for the future by various generations and their lifestyles.
Our Clear by Design Extracts model aims to offer the B2B market (distributors and producers) superior bioactive ingredients to meet the needs of professionals and product users in the Health and Well-being areas, specifically for Cosmetics, Nutraceuticals, and Foods. Many of our products are derived from the extensive Brazilian biodiversity, including annatto, passion fruit, jabuticaba, and other plant matrices.
We will produce lipid extracts, vitamin extracts, antioxidants, and carotenoids with benefits in the areas of obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular health, hepatic steatosis, prostate inflammation, skin aging, dyes, and flavors.

TECHNOLOGY AND APPLICATIONS DEVELOPMENT
We work together with UNICAMP laboratories and other Research Institutions in the development of bioactive extraction and application processes. We obtained extracts from passion fruit pulp residues for the Cosmetics industry and extracts from annatto seeds and jabuticaba peel for Nutraceutical application.

Rubian has an industrial plant for the extraction of pressurized fluids to meet local and international market demands. This plant will be flexible in obtaining various plant extracts, providing inputs for the Health and Well-being segments.
